tell me about yourself

Mary Robinette Kowal is asking for people to tell her something about themselves over at her journal.
I totally bit because, well, why not, eh?
So, I ask the same of you. No matter how well we know one another tell me something about yourself, anything at all. And then why not go to your own journal and ask the same thing of your readers?
As for me, I have been listening to Roxy Music, and thus Bryan Ferry and Brian Eno for most of the day.
As a result, I have been thinking of Eric Mayer all day because, well, duh... He probably saw Roxy Music in concert back in the day. (He's just that cool.) And then, of course, I have also been thinking of Akanthos because this song makes me think of this movie, which makes me think of Akanthos.
Doesn't this movie make you totally love Bill Murray, of all people? Awwwww.
(Also, if you check out Eric's journal he'll say probably the only interesting thing about himself is that he co-authors the John the Eunuch mysteries. I assure you that though this is interesting, Eric is interesting for a wide variety of additional reasons.)

Date: 2007-12-18 09:03 am (UTC)I feel guilty for my increasing hate of this cozy, English terrace house with its adorable back garden. It should be perfect, but I've come to find that it's extremely impractical in many ways. This makes me extra sad because I know my mother probably would have loved it. Why do I feel like I'm betraying someone who isn't even around because I don't like something that they probably would have?
Ooh, I'll give you another thing:
I love(d) roller skating. Any chance I got, I'd do it! Once, in high school, I won $250 in a national school spirit contest and the first thing I bought? Yep, roller skates (and a neato touch lamp with frosted glass shade...so pretty, way back when touch lamps were new and snazzy). I loved them! My grandpa had a quonset hut built to house all her ceramics molds, and it had a big concrete floor, OH LOVELY! I would skate around in circles for hours either listening to the Beach Boys or memorizing my lines for high school drama competitions (skating in circles was VERY useful for that!) and it was brilliant. I miss that.
Well, babbly enough for you? I'll have to spread this meme, I think. :)

Date: 2007-12-18 08:14 pm (UTC)not in a cool sense, i'm talking about in an actual, physical sense. when i sit, i rock, and when i go to bed, i rock. if i can't rock, i'm bouncing my leg or moving my foot.
my daughters do it to -- rock. they don't bounce their leg, though.
yeah, i'm a bit teched.
:)
