25 things

Awesome CW classmate Tracy Harford has tagged me to tell you 25 things about myself. I'm going to mix this up, however. Feel free to ask me a question in the comments and I'll answer those as my meme answers, attempting to include something personal within said answers. I'm also supposed to tag some people, but this time if you read this and want to participate just pretend I tagged you and go for it =).

Question:

What... is your quest?

To find the Grail: Illumination ;).

Why is a raven like a writing desk?

Crissy is ready for your answer

Okay. The cool thing about this is that Carroll intended for there to be no answer; however, this hasn't kept people from digging around for solutions. My favorite? Poe wrote on both ;).

(I grew up on The Annotated Alice.) Thanks Crissy! Hope you're feeling better =).

Martin Gardner is brilliant! :)

I totally agree! Ask me a question, Jess! I'm totally open here ;).

I couldn't think of one. :( But I'll get you later. :)

I'll be here :). (Well, probably California, but you know what I mean ;).)

I see you're coming up on your birthday. Does this one hold any significance for you?

[identity profile] albionidaho.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
It does, actually. I'll be 33 this year. I was reared Catholic. Jesus was, of course, crucified at 33. Some belief systems suggest he was killed on or around his birthday. For me, there's the thought of this birthday being a rebirth... If only I can get through the resurrection ;).

Catholic Guilt

Funnily enough Maggie, 33 was also a big year for me for the very same reason, except I approached it more like a specifically Catholic mid-life crisis, i.e., "Jesus managed to found an entire religion that altered history by 33; what the heck have I done with my life?" Eventually I got over it because, well, He was CRUCIFIED. Then I went to CW that year and PROBLEM SOLVED! :)

This is Tracy BTW

Hi Tracy! You totally accomplished TONS by the time you were 33! ;) CW certainly counts. Jesus never went to sci-fi camp;).

[identity profile] muzadi.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
If you were trapped in a dark room and awfully lonely, would you rather have A) A tentacle, B) A fur coat or C) Whipped cream?

[identity profile] muzadi.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
Damn it, I knew I should have left that one out. Too obvious, too obvious...

[identity profile] albionidaho.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
A girl can always use a fur coat ;).

[identity profile] muzadi.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
If you could turn into one species of animal, what would it be?

[identity profile] albionidaho.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
lupus familiaris

[identity profile] muzadi.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
What were your childhood heroes or icons?

[identity profile] albionidaho.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Albert Schweitzer, T.E. Lawrence, Meg Murray, Ray Bradbury, Edgar Alan Poe, King Kong, Lucy, Medina Wilson, my grandma Burdella, Martin Luther King, Jr., Alan Brennert, Virginia Johnson, Kathy Bell, my father, E. T.

[identity profile] albionidaho.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
I suspect I left more than one out... ;)
Who do you mean? Indiana Jones? Jarvis wasn't Jarvis Cocker yet, and I hadn't discovered Dylan, or Tori, or Neil, or...

[identity profile] albionidaho.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Or do you mean Schatze, or Snowflake, or Hazel, or Mr. Longears, or Mrs. Brisby, or... ;).

[identity profile] muzadi.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
Indy would be devastated to see how he'd been forgotten in your first round of draft picks...just devastated.

[identity profile] albionidaho.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Good point ;).

Indiana Jones. Oh, the passion! ;)

[identity profile] jspot42.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
If you had the chance to go back in time and do one of two things would you rather...
1)Invest as much as you could into companies like google during the late 90's?
or
2)Do one thing different in your childhood that you regret today?

[identity profile] albionidaho.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
I regret little from my youth. I'd invest and take what I could post-taxes and settlement.

[identity profile] jspot42.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Okay next...

If you were stuck listening to as much music as you ever wanted but it was only one artist you could hear. Would you rather listen to
1) Bob Dylan
or
2) Yoko Kanno

[identity profile] albionidaho.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
This, my dear, is not a fair question ;). But I am an American storyteller who was reared on Bob Dylan, also an American storyteller who has an extensive catalog that covers a wide variety of styles and subjects, so I'll go with him. ;)

Yoko Kanno totally roxors my boxors, though.

If you could have a Super power what would it be?

[identity profile] albionidaho.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Teleportation. I have people I adore all over the country, all over the world. I'd see them as much as possible. I'd also get to see the world ;).
