Stephen King quote a friend uses as an email signature: "Fiction is the truth inside the lie."

I think we can tell more truths, and we can embed them more deeply with fiction. Truth as knowledge is inert. Truth in action, changing hearts, opening minds, that is beauty.

Is (was) the thunder in your chest that you were great in what you did? Or that you can be great in writing fiction? That you realized you push yourself in whatever you do?

Pay no attention to these rambling words of an insomniac.
