Tonight Rice and I viewed
Smart People. It started well enough, but in the end the premise was a much better idea than its execution. The script definitely ended up falling apart, and it's possible the editing did, as well. (Didn't go digging for any deleted scenes that may have added moments of revelation.) The actors did, however, all do their jobs just fine, and the film did have some lovely lines, e.g.:
Him: Why would you have a baby with me?
Her: Because you don't know how to properly use a condom.
I could have watched
Six-String Samuri instead, with the Red Elvises, which, you know, totally wouldn't have sucked.
